This weekend was our church’s Christmas Pageant. Chips was a wiseman, and Sweet Girl was an angel. Both children participated in the event in two capacities – as wiseman / angel, and as chorister.
We do enjoy this pageant as the children all do such a great job and the costumes are lovely. Here are some photos..
During Saturday’s dress rehearsal, our wise men tried their best not to act like wise guys.
Our angels processed in twos, in very angelic fashion, I might add.
Our sheep and shepherds were just tremendously cute!
Our manger had prickly straw to sit upon – poor Mary.
Our choristers practiced their numbers.
The real action took place on Sunday afternoon, though, before a very receptive audience. Sweet Girl got a chance to sing to her heart’s content. So did Chips, and he was the “rhythm boy”, besides, tapping out the rhythms with a triangle and being a wiseman at the same time!
Here are all the choristers singing Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus.
These magi are smiling for cameras after the pageant ended. Well, kind of.
What a peace-filled Bethlehem night. What a miracle!
A close up of Sweet Girl at one of her most angelic moments of the day.
And as the pageant was going on, I kept thinking about how Chips will age out of the pageant and not be participating next year, and that was kind of sad. But for now, these are making good, sweet memories, for them and for us.
