We are not allowed to take photos or record video in the competitions, so I have merely uploaded the most recent practice session at our teacher's home.  This is Chips playing Kuchler's Concertino Opus 15, mvt. 1.  at Miss S's house last Monday.  She is accompanying him off camera on piano.  It is the piece whereby he won the violin SOLO state competition.  Thanks for viewing!

p.s. to Linda in Scotland -- I am definitely thinking of you and your kids on Monday.  Can't wait to hear!

I wanted to share some news with you over about Jonathan May's family. His wife and daughter and dear friend Micheal Miller have begun a new program.
This Saturday the city of Orlando and orange county made May 1 Mr. Jonathan May day. Wish you could have meant him, he was more special then words could describe.

Thank you for coming by today. As I type my three are in practicing together. We are considering the summer camp for our celloist with the MAYS. Micheal Miller and Mr. May before passing want my celloist over there saying he needed more challenge. We love Mrs. May, Emily and Micheal Miller. Would love if it worked out to be over there with them.

Thanks for the diet tip. I tried it yesterday and was down 1/2 a pound this morning. My trouble is that I eat too much on the days I'm allowed to eat more :)

Excellent! I finally got time to listen to this as it deserves. Wow - Chips really owns this piece. What a beautiful strong tone, as the piece demands. Loved his bow arm movement from the lower to the higher strings (all that Suzuki parenting leaves an imprint!), the mature vibrato, the gorgeous bow hand and wrist, the violin elbow tucked well under the instrument, the totally confident runs. An absolutely stunning mature performance!!
